Pursuing your interest in the arts and especially in painting can be quite difficult especially when you have not yet honed it to its best potential, for this reason it is highly suggested that you try to find a good arts and painting school where you can easily learn and expand your skills and knowledge.

The schools you find should also be a platform that can help you get the boost that you deserve as an artist, it should help you reach your goals as well as optimize your potentials.

Try to assess what kind of learning you would want to have, some artists want to pursue painting just as a hobby, while others want to pursue painting as a means to earn, for this reason you have to choose what kind of program you want to have.

You can get a program that is just meant to give you a certificate afterwards or subsequently, you can pursue a bachelor’s degree in painting so that you can effectively set your sights for the future.

A good arts and painting school is one that has teachers which are qualified to teach and train their students, the schools must have the right prerequisites and course outlines as well.

There are many schools which have different strengths as well, for this reason; students must always have the guts to do their research well before they try to enroll in a painting school.

Try to search out what kind of strengths you want to have in painting and in the arts, it is possible to enroll in an institution which has a proven track record in animation, industrial design and even in painting.

Equipment must always be available in the school so that the students will be able to do what they want and so that they will be ultimately prepared for whatever their needs are.

The school must have the facilities, the faculty and all of the other needed aspects to help students grow and mature in their study of the arts and in painting, without much needed factors, the school will not be able to help students at all.

Graphic design is critical to just about any business, but what will it cost you? As you can probably imagine, the answer depends on many different things.

In many ways, it is difficult to make accurate charts showing the cost of graphic design services. Graphic design costs are tied into talent and reputation as are so many other areas that require artistic skill. It might help to think of the difference in cost between a painting of a bowl of fruit your grandmother is selling at a local art fair and a Van Gogh being sold at a New York auction house.

One thing that is certain is that graphic design is something that will cost money. Graphic designers generally work on specific jobs for specific clients as opposed to artists who might be commissioned to do a work or might just do it in hopes of a future sale. So, since the graphic designer is always going to be directing his talent and skill toward a specific project and for a specific client, a specific price must be established for the services rendered.

Graphic design rates for business related types of projects are usually the most clear cut as far as price scale goes. A logo might cost around $500 and a complete brochure around $400. These two examples illustrate an important concept of design. It would appear at first glance that the logo would require less actual work to produce when compared to a complete brochure. Although this is true, the logo also will require more artistic skill whereas the brochure is more of a nuts and bolts design project. The lesson is that you have to pay for imagination and talent.

The graphic designer faces the same situation. The Department of Labor tells us that the average salary for a graphic designer is just under $30,000 for employees with less than one year of experience. This is assuming that the designer has a degree in graphic design. The salary average goes up to almost $50,000 after 20 years. We can also learn with a bit of research that most graphic designers charge hourly rates that run around $80 an hour for their services.

Although these figures give us some idea of graphic design rates, they do not tell a complete story. The bottom line is that every graphic designer is an artist. It does not matter if they are designing logos or brochures or web sites. In the end, much will depend on the skill and talent of the graphic designer and the sky is the limit. This applies to both sides. If you want the very best, you have to be prepared to pay a little more. If you are a designer, you may turn out to be the Van Gogh of graphic design. Although hopefully your true talent won’t have to wait until years after your death to be appreciated.

There are two major art museums that the modern art enthusiast must visit. One is the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, New York. The other is located in Paris, France called Musee d’Orsay, which translates to the Museum of Orsay. These two museums feature abstract art in its best form. Abstract painting is a form that can be difficult to appreciate, but for those who love it, these museums are must-sees.

Located in the heart of the city that never sleeps, the Museum of Modern Art, the MOMA, is praised all over the globe for its incredible collection of modern art. The museum has everything from projects made simply out of cardboard and a little bit or metal to the first set of moving pictures. Just recently, the MOMA had an exhibit titled “Paper: Pressed, Stained, Slashed and Folded” where the artist illustrated the different ways in which paper can be manipulated. The MOMA even shows films throughout the year. MOMA also has a part of the museum dedicated to modern photography. This famous museum also has a film component to it. Currently, MOMA is featuring a film called “Nollywood Babylon” which is a documentary about film in the African nation of Nigeria. The location of MOMA also makes it special. People come from around the world to view the collections housed in the MOMA.

Musee d’Orsay, is located in Paris, France along the Seine River. This museum is home to all of the different forms of contemporary art like sculptures, painting, books and film. The museum also features different kinds of contemporary art such as furniture. Interestingly enough, the museum was originally built out of a railway station. Not only does the museum feature contemporary art, but also work from the mid 1800s until the mid 1900s. It has incredible collections of photographs and architectural drawings. The museum has one of the best collections of impressionist art, a form of contemporary art, in the world. Probably one of the most interesting things about the museum is it features an exhibit of how the museum was originally designed. Like the MOMA, this museum’s location makes it even more spectacular. This is a museum that, if you are in Paris, you certainly do not want to miss. This museum has a type of artwork for everyone.

These two museums are perfect for those wanting to find incredible collections of contemporary art. Each is located in a beautiful spot of their respective cities, which makes them even more incredible. These museums also feature different types of exhibits than regular art museums such as, film, photography, and architecture. Even, if you are not a connoisseur of contemporary art, these museums are sure to have something for everyone. Next time you are in New York City or Paris, you should certainly consider taking a walk through these museums.

The Museum of Modern Art, often simply called MoMA, is not only one of the most celebrated of New York City’s many great museums, but is also considered to be one of the most influential modern art museums in the world.

An art gallery may not be a place that many think of as an enjoyable destination for a night out or a date. However, these places really do have a lot to offer. Keep in mind that the atmosphere in galleries can change quite a bit, depending upon the location, the owners, and the style of art that is being displayed, so you may want to do a bit of research on various art galleries in your area before you choose one to visit.

Art Gallery openings are also a lot of fun, so if you hear of new gallery opening in your area, that is the night you will want to go. Take your spouse or a date and plan to have a great time. Dressing appropriately is important, so find out a little bit about the event. Many openings in cities and upscale areas will host only black tie openings, so you would feel a little odd showing up in jeans and a t-shirt. Similarly, other openings may be a bit more quirky, so again, find out ahead of time a little bit about the featured gallery and artists.

Often the style of art that is featured can lend you a clue as to the dress code. Classic and sophisticated paintings will be more formal, while a more modern and trendy selection will likely lend to a more casual atmosphere. In the end, if you still haven’t got a clue, you can always call the art gallery and ask. Any gallery curator or owner will be more than happy to help you.

Plan to have fun, but keep in mind that boisterousness if not really accepted in this atmosphere. It is best to speak at a low tone. Most of the time, everyone huddles together in groups or couples and speak quietly together about the art. This can be a great intimate atmosphere for a date, so don’t embarrass your date by talking too loud on inappropriate subjects. And don’t forget to listen. You may learn something.

It is a good idea to stay a safe distance from the paintings. These works of art are very expensive, priceless in some cases. You are not allowed to touch them, and you should be very careful if you are sampling items from the buffet table that you are not careless enough to have a mishap that would splatter on a painting. If you damage a painting, you will be required to pay for it.

An art gallery is an enjoyable, wonderful place. Dress appropriately, go expecting to have a good time, and share the experience with others. Your date will also enjoy doing something a bit different.

When you think about museums and galleries of great art, it is easy to think of Europe. Certainly with the Renaissance of the 14th to 17th centuries, the number of works of art surged. It was natural for galleries and museums to spring up to house these masterpieces. America, on the other hand, wasn’t even a country during this time period. Don’t let that fact mislead you into thinking that there are no great art galleries in the US.

As America grew, she became a country of great wealth and power. This attracted many Europeans to immigrate to America for a better life. These numbers have been artists such as Marcel Duchamp, who is considered the father of object art. He left Paris during World War I for the safety of America. The Roaring Twenties became a time of great change in culture, art, and societal norms in the US. America’s move to the forefront of the art world became most evident following World War II.

The 20th century brought American realism and modernism with artists such as Mary Cassatt and George Bellows. The American Southwest movement had notables including Bert Greer Phillips and Georgia O’Keeffe. Artist Aaron Douglas and photographer James VanDerZee were included in the Harlem Renaissance. The Depression brought about New Deal Art, and Abstract Expressionism was a popular Post-World War II art form including artists Jackson Pollock and James Brooks. More modern American movements included Pop Art and Conceptual Art.

As American art grew, so did US art galleries and museums to display the pieces. From the Atlantic to the Pacific, America has many huge cities, and each one has notable galleries worth visiting. Some of the more famous ones include the Art Institute of Chicago, the National Museum of American Art at the Smithsonian Institute and the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C., the Orlando Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Art in Boston, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the San Diego Museum of Art.

If you are considering a career in art, don’t limit your education to just a good art school. Expand your horizon by visiting as many art galleries across the US or only in the state where you live. Collections constantly change, giving you opportunities to regularly expose yourself to a variety of art. There will be no greater thrill than when your own art is displayed in a gallery for all to enjoy!

The diverse field of graphic design provides a wide range of career opportunities to the educated artist. Many online schools offer degree and certificate programs for graphic design that will have students using artistic procedures to create different forms of visual communication and presentation.

Individuals who are comfortable with computers and love to draw might find their passion within this degree distinction. Students will work with electronic media, film, and print to gain the skills needed to complete their prospective job responsibilities. Graphic designers have a wide range of job activities that include creating business logos, layout and design of newspapers, magazines, brochures for marketing purposes, Internet graphics, advertising, and much more.

Individuals have a couple of degree options to ponder before choosing which school to attend. Most online schools for this area of education
offer an associate and bachelor degree in graphic design. Certification can also be earned from a number of other online institutions. The
degree distinction chosen will determine how long a program is and what courses are required. For example, certificate programs will vary in length depending on what skill an individual is trying to obtain. However, it is common for an individual to complete a certificate program faster than an associate degree program. A certificate program usually requires around 60 to 80 credit hours and can take as little as six months to complete. A certificate is awarded once a student has passed an exam or reached a certain level of knowledge.

Some Associate of Science degree programs in graphic design may require students to complete approximately 90 credit hours. Credit hours can be higher depending on the school. If enrolled in a 90 credit hour program a student will on average take 15 to 16 credit hours per semester. The program may include a course on corporate design, which would include topics on trademarks, branding, online presence design, and logo design. This course is essential for the individual who wants to work for a business or corporation as a member of their graphic design team.

An online bachelor program typically requires a student to complete around 180 credit hours. The credit hours will be broken down into different computer program courses, techniques, and more. Courses may include web design, which will prepare students to use graphic design online. This type of course would teach students design principles for screen layouts, interactive interfaces for web sites, graphics, and more. Students would learn the basics for standard design programs.

Most associate and bachelor degree programs require students to have a high school diploma or the equivalent prior to admission into the
program. Prospective students may also be required to take an online orientation course. This course allows students to become familiar with
online procedures and prepares them to be active learners through their online studies.

Graphic designers are always needed in advertising, publishing, and design firms. With a positive employment outlook and the increasing
number of accredited training programs available online, gaining an education is easier than ever. Search for an online graphic design program that provides the education you need and start your career in design today.
